This pair of woodcuts grew out of rather spontaneous drawings and carvings, inspired by some art I saw elsewhere which had no strong lines or contrasts, leading to rather fluid and repetitious figures on my part. I worked on both of these at the same time and they have exactly the same colors, appropriately complementing the land and the waters.
